Meetings are held the second Thursday of the month at JCCC room 175 or 181 at 6:00pm.
The February meeting will be held at The Flying Saucer in KCP&L.
The January meeting will be on the 14th, in room RC-181. We will be having a discussion on Wireshark, aswell as firming up a February get together, and preparing for a lab scenario for March. There is some renewed interest in gettting a CCNA study group going, if you are interested in a study group, this would be a great time to get started.
November meeting will be on the 12th in Room RC181.
October meeting:
There was only 7 people there, we mainly discussed issues and future meetings.
August meeting:
There were 9 people at the August meeting. We looked at Dynamips and Packettracer. Metropolitan Community College was the sponsor for the night and brought in pizza.
July meeting:
We had 12 people at the July meeting. Different topics were brought up for future meetings: Cisco wireless mapping, Best Practice QoD, Multicast troubleshooting, IPv6, Newest version of Callmanager, BGP, RFID, Macros, Penetration Testing, IronPort, and Cisco Job Market.
We also discussed setting up a Telepresence conference with a different group. We did not have enough interest to form any study groups.
It was brought up that the forum would not let anyone join, that has now been fixed. There is quite a bit of interest in the forum so hopefully this will help us shape future meetings.
Cisco Press will supply us with product from time to time. It was brought up that we should form a library instead of giving away the books. Infortuneately, I can not thing of a way of transporting and dealing with that, if anyone has a solution, let me know. As a side note, we could definitely form a list of books that the members have and share them out to other members. We need suggestions on how to organize that. If any one wants to take on that leader ship, please let me know.
June meeting:
We had 12 people show up and had a great discussion tonight on how to grow the group and what the group should be. We have enough members to sign up for Ciscopress so we may have books to give away at the next meeting.
We are shooting for July 16 for the next meeting at JCCC, I should have that confirmed by early next week.
The SkillsUSA is having their national conference at Bartle hall: http://www.skillsusa.org/events/nlscagenda.shtml
Topics to discuss for future meetings would be best practices, design scenarios, and real life issues.
It looks like we may be able to organize a CCNA and a CCNA Wireless study group. We need more people for CCNP, voice specialty, and CCIE RS to get anything going there.
We need some type of communication system, something like a forum or LinkedIn. I am working on the forum right now.
